Happy Birthday President Trump! The Villages Showed Up — And It Reminded Me Exactly Why We're Fighting!

There's nothing quite like a golf cart parade in The Villages! This week, I had the honor of joining the Republican Assembly of Sumter County for the Trump Birthday Golf Cart Parade, and I can tell you — the energy was unforgettable.

Thousands of golf carts, decked out in red, white, and blue, rolling down the streets together. Thousands of patriots lining the route, waving flags, cheering, and showing up simply because they love this country. I met so many incredible people that day — neighbors, veterans, small business owners, retirees who've spent a lifetime working hard and paying their dues — and every single conversation reminded me why this campaign matters.

The Villages isn't just a community. It's one of the strongest pockets of America First patriotism anywhere in this country, and spending the day surrounded by that kind of energy is exactly the fuel I need heading into this fight.

Here's what came up, again and again, in those conversations:

Fighting for President Trump & America First

Almost everyone I spoke with wanted to talk about one thing first: standing behind President Trump and the America First agenda. As one of the first people to campaign on stage with then-candidate Trump back in 2016, I told them what I'll tell you — I will be a reliable vote to advance America First, and I will never back down.

The Cost of Living and Our Border

So many folks in The Villages are on fixed incomes, and they feel the cost of living squeeze every single month. They know exactly where it's coming from: an open border that's cost taxpayers nearly a trillion dollars, paired with reckless spending and money-printing that's driven inflation higher for everyone. I'll fight to keep the border closed, continue deportations, and stop the policies that put American workers and American taxpayers last.

Protecting Veterans' Benefits

The Villages is home to an enormous veteran community, and I heard it loud and clear: veterans want a Congressman who will actually fight for the benefits they earned. I enlisted at 17, and I know what those promises mean. I will be the biggest advocate veterans have in Washington — on disability ratings, access to care, mental health services, and job placement.

Faith, Family, and the Sanctity of Life

As a Christian conservative, husband, father of three, and grandfather of two, conversations about faith and family always hit close to home for me. So many people in The Villages share that same foundation — they believe every life is sacred, from conception to natural death, and they want a Congressman who will stand up for it without hesitation. I will.

Backing the Blue and Defending the Second Amendment

Plenty of retired law enforcement call The Villages home, and they had plenty to say about respect for the badge and the importance of real accountability for career criminals. I told them what I believe: our officers put their lives on the line every day, and they deserve a Congressman who backs them — and who will always defend the Second Amendment.

Healthcare That Actually Works for Seniors

In a community like The Villages, healthcare costs are top of mind for almost every family. People are tired of insurance companies getting rich while everyday Americans struggle to afford care. I will fight to repeal and replace Obamacare once and for all, and build something that actually works for the people who need it.

Days like this are what campaigns are supposed to be about — not just speeches and fundraisers, but real conversations with the people you're asking to trust with your vote. The Villages showed up in a big way, and I left more determined than ever to bring that same fight to Washington for all of Florida's 11th District.

Thank you to the Republican Assembly of Sumter County for putting together such an incredible event, and thank you to every single patriot who came out to celebrate America and share their hopes for this country's future. This is why we fight.
